Mobile Drink driving

We’ve had a weird hour.
Some incredibly drunk, fully grown men parked up in our driveway, crashed into a stack of paving slabs and just remained in the car drinking and smoking without a care in the world!
OH went to ask them to leave (before he knew they were completely wasted) and quickly realised he needed to stop them driving. I panicked a bit at that point in case it turned nasty but he stood his ground and waited at least 10 mins for them to gather up whatever they ‘needed’ and ensure they left on foot.
I’m ashamed to say that I immediately assumed it would be teenagers. I was pretty shocked to see them emerge from the car.
How odd though. It didn’t seem
They were on their way back from the pub or anything. It was more of a beer picnic they’d gone out for.

Is the car still on your driveway? Did they crash into your paving slabs? If yes to either of those questions then I would ring the police too. I wouldn’t want them coming back to pick up the car and they should pay if they’ve caused any damage to your property

Police should have been called to arrest the drunken driver! He could have killed someone 😡

Yes I agree. I didn’t say that the op shouldn’t have phoned the police immediately. However, as they didn’t I was pointing out that there may be other reasons that the police needed to be notified

We did call. They’ve just been. Apparently too much time had passed for any action to be taken as the call didn’t get ranked properly or something.
It’s been logged and the policeman is now contacting traffic to check the technicalities.
The policeman asked how OH knew he was drunk. Amongst other things, when OH asked him why he was in our driveway he said he was in the Spar car park 🤔
Does Spar even exist still? Haven’t seen one in years!

How terribly sad you should’ve called the Police, Drink drivers are the scum of the earth, both my parents were killed by one, I was 5 & my brother was 9, just get a taxi or walk

Too much time had passed? But isn’t the car still on your driveway?
That doesn’t make any sense .

I'm glad you called the Police and the drunk left without fuss.

Is the car still with you or did the police tow it?

I'm glad no one was hurt.

I'm guessing they mean to much time has passed for them to take a test so there would be no evidence to drink driving just one person's word against another as someone else's car on your driveway although wrong is not evidence of drink driving by itself
