did you have or are you planning a UK reception?

If you have had or are planning a UK reception after a Florida wedding?
  1. if so what did you/are you going to do? having a meal and disco, just disco or just going to a pub? What do you think is the ettiquette?
  2. Did you wear your wedding dress again?
  3. Did you show your wedding video at the reception?
  4. Also how long after your wedding was your UK reception?
  5. how long does it take to get your CD of photos? im plannning on using Disney (for the DP and Park photos) and Randy Chapman (for everything else). I think it would be great to have all the photos for the reception.

trying to plan but WOW I have so many questions!
thanks for your help

We've rented a private room in our local rowing club, joined as a member for the year which was £50 I think which entitles us to hire for £100 on a Saturday night! We're having a DJ which I'm sorting out now, just getting quotes back before deciding!
I'm wearing my dress, DFi is wearing his suit
We're having our laptop on with the (home) video and photos we have taken
Our wedding is 6th September, we arrive back in UK on 22nd September, party is on 6th October, so 2 weeks later
Randy should get the photos to you within a couple of days, I understand Disney photography takes a little longer though so may have to be shipped to the UK...I'd ask your planner about that!

HTH!

We are hiring out our local rugby club on the Friday night after we return from 7.30pm - 12pm, no meal just a buffet, we're havign a cupcake tower & a sweetie buffet, we've got a live singer/DJ for entertainment - so just a big old party basically haha!
  2. Did you wear your wedding dress again?

Oh yes, need to get as much wear out of the dress as I can!
  3. Did you show your wedding video at the reception?

We're not having a professional wedding video as we just don't like them. A friend is filming our ceremony but itll only be for our use I won't be showing it at the reception. We will have a laptop hooked up to the projector with photos though.
  4. Also how long after your wedding was your UK reception?

We get married on 12th september, arrive back in uk on 25th septemebr, party is on the 28th

Randys doing our photos and I think it takes a couple of days to get back as Nat said, I'm hoping that as theres actually 16 days between the wedding & reception we'll have randys photos plus our friends ones to play on the night

trying to plan but WOW I have so many questions!
thanks for your help
Hope that helps!

My sisters want us to do something on our return. I am not sure. If we do have to give in to the pressure and do something we will book a table at our local Italian and probably arrange a set menu. We eat there quite often with our DD so they would be more than accommodating.

We are a buffet, wedding cake and disco. You can do whatever you want.
  2. Did you wear your wedding dress again?

    Of course!
  3. Did you show your wedding video at the reception?

No we didn't have it in time. Its also about 30 mins long so I don't think I would have but i've been to one where it was shown.
  4. Also how long after your wedding was your UK reception?

    About 8 weeks.
  5. how long does it take to get your CD of photos? im plannning on using Disney (for the DP and Park photos) and Randy Chapman (for everything else). I think it would be great to have all the photos for the reception.

We got all our photos before we left WDW from both Randy & Disney.

  2. Did you wear your wedding dress again?
Yes, all our friends and family were keen to see it
  3. Did you show your wedding video at the reception?
No (it was still unedited), we did show weddings photos all night on a big screen though
  4. Also how long after your wedding was your UK reception?
    7 weeks

We had the disney photos the next day delivered to our room and Randy delivered them to us the day before we flew home

trying to plan but WOW I have so many questions!

Forgot to add about mine, we are having a toasting drink (just some fizz, hiring glasses from Sainsburys) and to eat, the local chippie is catering - fish & chips, pie & chips or sausage & chips, very cheap!

Hi getting married 19th September 2012! Both decided don't want reception back home as just wanted small intimate wedding abroad so defeats purpose we felt! Friends gutted as a lot can't afford to come to Florida which makes me feel bad for them but need to remember its our wedding and should only be what we want! Really wanted every1 to see my dress as I love it! But will have plenty of pics and video. xxx
