Universal without express in late July
The plan was to go up to Universal, stay one night at RPR and buy a 2 day pass. However, DH thinks we’d be better to have the 14 day pass and go up from the villa several times (early or late) instead but without Express. We haven’t been up to Universal for about 10 years so I’m not sure which is best.

This will Be our 3rd year of doing universal in July. We have had the express pass each time and it makes a massive difference. I don’t think I’d be keen to do Universal in July without it.

3 years ago went to US/IOA in August, staying at the RPR and glad we did. Would not consider Universal in Summer without Express...
... unless you like 90 min waits in the boiling, humid temps for Minions, Harry Potter, etc etc. With Express, did everything at least once in each part, on both days, many things multiple times. Without Express you might be lucky to get 5-6 in a day.

I would much rather have express. It was easier to get round all the rides.

Another one for the express passes and a nights stay. We wouldn’t do it with out in the peak times.

Il disagree here, (slightly as it is August) we don't have express we have 14 days, most rides were 30 mins apart from Minions which was always over 80 (still not ridden it lol) the few times we went Mid afternoon /early evening again most rides were only 20 mins wait times apart from Minions

Fast passes do make it easier but you will still have a great time without them. We found that from about 6pm onwards the lines die down each night and you can fit in plenty. We have been mid July the last two years and it’s busy but manageable.

We had express passed last year and the queues were horrendous. We waited for 55 min to ride kong, 45 min to ride minions!
It was only the non head liners that we could walk on and so was everyone else. Not sure if the opening of volcano bay made universal extra busy but it a nightmare. Our worst visit in years. |
