Prince Eric To Join Ariel at Magic Kingdom for Meet & Greet

Ariel’s Grotto at Magic Kingdom is scheduled to close Monday (April 12) and it sounds like the Little Mermaid will be unavailable in that park — except in the Disney Dreams Come True and Spectromagic parades — until about May 9, when she is expected to start greeting guests in her human form near the Adventureland Veranda (where Lilo and Stitch currently appear).

The good news? Prince Eric apparently will join Ariel in Adventureland as a test run for a more permanent meet-and-greet in Fantasy Forest, which is part of the Fantasyland expansion. Prince Eric has never had a permanent meet and greet before, he has not appeared at any character meals, and has always been one of those illusive "rare" characters. But that is all about the change. He is sure to be a hit with guests, so I am almost certain his place in the Fantasy Forest area is guaranteed.

Those wanting to meet Ariel before May 9 often can find her in her human form at the Princess Storybook Breakfasts, Lunches and Dinners at the Norway Pavilion in Epcot. (A gentle reminder: The Little Mermaid is not guaranteed to be at these character meals, but they are your best best while her grotto is closed.)

Ariel also appears in Fantasmic several times per week and in her own attraction, Voyage of The Little Mermaid, at at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. These shows do not have opportunities for photos and autographs, though.

will be lovely to meet another character, Eric is handsome! and great to see ariel out of the grotto too! and the photo on the front page is one we took in january this year, if this is the eric they will use then he was lovely!
