They factor cleaning into the hire cost - so why would you do either:

1. Make them more money
2. Get a poor "Orlandian" fired because the renters are doing the cleaning so they have no job to do

i guess it all depends on what state the car is in when youre done.

if youve got weird stains all over the seats and left a load of empty drinks bottles on the floors, then yes... clean up!

but if its just a bit of sand from a trip to the beach on the carpets and maybe a sweet wrapper in the change holder, then no.. not at all.

have to confess didn't even cross my mind to clean it. Not even sure we collected the toll money loose change and chewing gum from central cup holder either! My Bad!

Hiya FV - as Geoff said, it is in the contract that if they deem excessive cleaning is necessary they will charge your cc, but as they sign you off at drop off you should know at that point if the checker deems it overly dirty. Luckily we haven't had that happen.

Perhaps those of us who clean the screen once we collect the car should charge them In over 20 years I've never taken a car without scarmy screens/windows.

We don't clean it, but we do tidy it up properly.

Also, when we pick a car up if there are big obvious stains on the seats etc (like this time!) or any other big thing 'wrong' we point it out and/or just take a couple of photos on our phones.

Never had an issue, but just for our records in case.

Chris. I find Alamo fairly good for the screen but Dollar were dreadful. So much so I stopped using them when I couldn't see out in the sun!

Well I go against the flow here as I like a clean car on the outside. We had a very new brilliant white Chrysler 300S and during our last three week trip I washed it in the car wash at Berry Town Centre ... twice...!

I keep my own car clean, so why not the one I use on holidays.

I don't clean it on return tho. I clean it during the hire for my own needs

Hi Mr T In 20+ years I've used most hire suppliers and never yet had clear glass, understandable with air dried motors. I'm a cheapskate, booking a two day cheap as chips economy for driving from/to MCO, don't mind who with as long as the beast gets me to/from SW Fla - Budget have been hitting my cheap bone for the past couple of years, this November is £31 after discount and Quidco cash back.

Car hire prices have risen quite a % over the past few year. We paid £11 a day for a 5 month rental in 2012, now a 6 month hire will cost circa £2900... our private Fla car reduces that significantly.

And nothing wrong with that at all. My Son always asks if I want the car put through the car wash. I tell him yes if he wants to but he pays!
I am like you - I hate a dirty car particularly the inside so keep it nice.
Plus its about showing respect for other peoples property

Tom

I've already posted on this thread but just wanted to say have a safe trip and great holiday.

Have you asked Chris to join you in a SDD?

Mick
