Universal park to park question
Just wondering ...
We are planning 2 days at universal on our next trip and looking at ticket prices it is cheaper to get a 4 day base ticket than a 2 day park to park ticket We want to do the Hogwarts express between the parks so could we use 2 days of the base ticket to go from one park to the other on the same day or must we have a park to park ticket ? Thanks |

I'm afraid you have to have a park-to-park ticket in order to visit both parks on the same day and ride the Hogwart's Express. You can't use 2 days from the ticket to visit both parks in one day.

forget the 4 day ticket just get the universal 14 day ticket its less then £140 and the 4day ticket works out at more then £150. Plus the UK 14 days gives as much park to park as you want.

I thought so, just wanted to check as 4 day only £105 currently so would have saved £150 for the 4 of us |

Good point SB
Is there a good reason to be able to visit both parks in the same day, other than getting the Train, or is there enough to do in each to keep separate days at each. When we go to the Disney parks we have never Hopped from one to another, so why am I thinking we would at Universal. What do people do generally, as you are right £150 for a 4 minute train ride does seem a little unnecessary ... |

There is enough to do in each park to do separate days in each. However, we like to spend 1 day in US, 1 day in IOA and then 1 day in both revisiting the best bits again.
Unlike the Disney parks, the two Universal parks are right next to one another and you can easily walk between the two. It takes about 10 mins. Hence, it is easier to park hop *if* you want to do it. We've always tended to buy the UK 14 day tickets because they were cheaper than 3 day tickets. However, saving £150 by just getting the base tickets is a tempting offer. Although that would mean that the base tickets are only around £95 if going next year (14 day tickets are £135)?
