We flew TC in 2016, 2018 and will be again in 2020. I have a peanut allergy and sensitivity if varying degrees to other nuts. The reason we chose to fly TC is because the James Martin meals were nut free, they couldn’t guarantee the meals on the way back but made the request and nut free was received. They also made announcements etc even though my allergy isn’t classed as anaphalactic (only moderate). VA on the otherhand could provide me with numerous dietary options, including vegan, vegatarian, kosher, halal amongst others. But couldn’t provide a nut free meal as a guarantee and advised that I should provide my own meal so I could be sure. I asked if this would be reflected in the price and was told no. That’s why they lost our business

My husband also has a nut allergy so this is a challenge we also face. My experience is that all of the Disney restaurants take allergies very seriously and some even have allergy-specific menus. In terms of restaurants off-site, I would advise mentioning to the host(ess) when you check into and again we have always found them to be very helpful and to take everything very seriously in this regard.

As others have said the restaurants over there are great. I have nut allergies, and fruit (can only eat cooked or tinned) and most vegetables (again can eat when cooked). For me I think it’s what pollen they all let off. I always mention it and they are always happy to help.
My friends son had an allergic reaction on the plane, they helped out as best they could beforehand, but his reaction was from someone eating them. I believe they said they couldn’t prevent people from bringing their own nuts onto the flight. She may be along to explain. I personally don’t see a problem with airlines just saying no nuts allowed onto planes. I’m sure people could live without them for a plane journey. But that’s for another post... or vote 😊
