Wanted to go to LA next April but have found there are no direct flights from Manchester until the end of May the choice is aer lingus or BA . Has anyone flown aer lingus ? Your thoughts please .

Considered Aer Lingus for Glw-Nyc this year but flight grom Glw to Dub & back was with Stobart Air. This meant cabbin bags had to be smaller & lighter than BA allow, and its only 1 piece, no handbag/laptop in adfition.Unfortunately due to medical issues we need to make use of full hand baggage allowance.
Check this out if you need to as lits of the Uk-Dub flights use Stobart.

We flew Aer lingus to Chicago (and back from SFO) in 2016 and they were fine, about the same as BA and better than recent Virgin experience.

Main reason we used was because the flights were a lot cheaper from Dublin (even allowing for ryanair flight Bristol-Dublin) and had the benefit of clearing US immigration before we set off.

We used them in 2016 due to price. I found the seating space, staff and meals to be pretty good. The film selection was just a bit more limited but we found things to watch. Big bonus was clearing immigration at Dublin.
