Top of the world bar
I have been invited here by others before but I’m not sure of the rules if I want to do the inviting ?
I want to invite two families. One staying off site. We are DVC members but they aren’t. We will be staying at copper creek. Is that ok? |

I think the rules are that only members and guests staying on site somewhere (cash or points- resale or direct) can go in. It did say somewhere at one time guests must be on the reservation, but this does not say that:
"Available to Eligible Members Disney Vacation Club Members staying at any Disney-owned-and-operated hotel at Walt Disney World Resort (whether they booked with Vacation Points or cash) may enjoy access to this exclusive space just outside Magic Kingdom park. Check in Upon arrival, Members must check in at the Top of the World Lounge desk in the ground floor lobby. At least one Member in the traveling party must accompany the group and present his or her current MagicBand or card in order to gain admission to the lounge and observation deck. A Disney Vacation Club Membership Card is also required to verify Membership." So whether it has changed is not clear. I suppose the question is- would they check everyone's magic bands, or just the main member then just waive everyone else up? Suppose may depend on how busy it is? Not clear though.

How many in total would there be Bev? We've taken non onsite guests up before, a lot would depend on how many of you there are and how busy it is. If you went up around 7pm ish (with the fireworks on at 9pm) you should be OK

3 of us plus about 8 others.
Just formulating an idea at the moment. We could meet up elsewhere but thought it would be nice. I would be mortified if they were turned away though. |

11 is a lot but I still think you might be OK. If you're worried about being turned away you could always head over there either as soon as they open and ask or a few days before you wanted to go, explain the situation and ask if you'd be allowed to bring them up. If they say no then you could pick a different resort bar to meet - say the Poly, WL or GF. Also if you explain to your guests that it is a perk for DVC members so it's not guaranteed but you're going to try then I'm sure they wouldn't mind if you didn't get in. For 11 of you, I'd get up there early enough as it would be hard to get that many seats together.

Bev Pete Werner (other board) does a YouTube show on BLT last week and he says BLT staff were scanning bands and turning away people not staying on property last week. But does seem inconsistent.
