Just back from Seville - Highs and Lows
My husband and I have returned from a lovely long weekend in Seville, without the kids (yay!)
We flew with Ryanair, which was ok - nothing fancy but we had no delays or issues so all fine. We stayed 3 nights at the iconic Alfonso XIII, which was in a fantastic location and very luxurious but also comfortable we didnt feel it was in any way snobby, and we could just feel at home. Highs - we used Free Now, a taxi app, recommended on the Dibb (thank you!) it worked brilliantly, you can see the registration of the taxi booked, and then track it moving towards you, we were so glad of this, the queue for taxis at the airport was very long and ours appeared as if by magic almost instantly, also, DH left his glasses in it, and thankfully we were able to message our driver, who kindly returned them to our hotel. Tours - we did two tours, through Viator, and skipped the long queues at the Alcazar, and the beautiful Cathedral, both tours were around an hour and half, with great guides, and only around £25pp. So worth it. Food and Drink - we found it very cheap to eat and drink, a glass of wine was around 2.5 euros, bargain! DH is not very good at Tapas, he had issues sharing his food with me. We tried Croquettes, Iberian Ham, Fried Seafood, baked Goats cheese all very tasty. We went to a food market, Mercado Del Barranco, down by the river, and this was amazing, you just choose what you fancy, and eat it with lovely river views and a nice drink! The area around our Hotel had loads of street entertainment- flamenco, singers, guitarists etc, it was just fantastic. Lows - not many, we had a room issue, our first room was over a noisy bar, and I asked to move, we got a lovely second room overlooking the hotels interior courtyard, and it was bliss. DH had the hump about moving rooms, but he is deaf and I have the hearing of a bat, so I insisted yes it was necessary Weather - bit stormy and changeable, we had a dinner cancelled, we were planning to eat on a private roof terrace, using an app called EAT WITH, where a chef cooks you a meal in their home, I was really looking forward to this experience but the weather meant we just couldnt do it, and we ended up in a very quiet restaurant with no atmosphere and average food. Colds - we both caught awful colds! Not sure if it was the plane, or just the weather or bad luck but we are home with streaming noses! Overall we absolutely loved Seville, and want to go back as there was so much more we just didnt have time to see and do! I didnt try the famous orange dessert wine, so we definitely need to go back! Here are a few photos of our trip - [/APP]

Looks fabulous! My OH also doesn’t share food so we tend to avoid tapas, but I love it! Thanks for sharing.

That looks brilliant, now our DD is heading to uni, my DH and I have said we would like to try a few European city breaks so Seville looks lovely.
Your photos look really nice. I do love the idea of tapas by the canal (although my DH isn’t good at sharing either 😂 ) |

Takes me back to our visit LL...
As you look at yr photo 1 of the Alfonso, we were top floor about two rooms away from the corner tower,( to the right) with small outdoor balcony. We will go back, the city is stunning without the exorbitant prices that you see in Barc or Madrid. Disney332
