August holiday costs
Thought it would be interesting for some to post the holiday costs for a family of Four. Kids 12 and 7 years only flying on the 23rd August for two weeks.
£2663 holiday BA flights staying on IDrive at coco keys £341 car intermediate SUV with Jet2 (could of got it £40 cheaper) £3004 Total £3623 tickets Orlando passport £194 Kennedy space center £175 Airboat £3817 total tickets Total £6821 Spending money £3000 £10k near as damn it. Go big or go home as they say 😂 Think I did ok with getting the best prices. Checked sites etc most days to ensure I knew what the price averages were Hope it helps some. |

Looks like you got a good price, but time of year and school holidays make a massive difference to prices.
2 weeks from the 23rd August is returning well into school term tmime which dramatically drops the prices, so difficult to compare with holidays fully in school holidays. Need to compare like with like, to see true differences, not meant to sound negative and a good suggestion for people to look at for prices, but dates can make a massive difference. |

We also go in 23/8 but for 10 nights
BA indirect flights, with std suv car hire £2119 Villa £1405 Tampa Bay Rays Baseball tickets & parking £49.00 30 Seconds to Mars tickets £58 Bok Tower tickets free TOTAL £3631 We aren’t planning on doing any parks this year, the cost has become too high and we’ve been lucky to have visited many times. This is an alternative to a European beach holiday. We will eat at the villa with a few meals out too, but we will be mostly villa based and doing free/low cost activities. We will definitely be going to St Pete’s beach/Clearwater one day and if we can get an early table we will go to Sharks on the magical dining and stay in the park till closing afterwards. I’ll also book crazy golf/Kissimmee Go Karts on Groupon nearer the time. Hope to go to Disney Springs for the drone show too, and maybe a trip to Wekiwa springs for some swimming and snorkelling and the car show at Margaritaville. If anyone has any other suggestions of cheap/free activities, I’d love to hear them.

The cost of our holiday is for 6 and not 4, but…
2 adults 4 children aged 13,10,3,18 months. Leaving 20th August for 20 nights. Flights £2000 Minivan hire £1150 Tickets £2550 Villa £3000 (could have got someone for half the price but we splashed out a bit) Spends £2000 (we’ve done with less before) Edit: we’ve never done 3 weeks before, so actually, spends would be more like £3000, not £2000 We could have got the villa cheaper by half and there will be other costs here and there like getting a taxi to and from the airport but nothing major. This is interesting, thanks for posting . I just booked Dockside for 10 nights in Aug 2025 (19th-29th) 2 bed suite pool view for £1270 with TR (£20 deposit) . Was looking at Easter hols, but 10 days at the same place/room type is £2100 so thought id check Aug out!
Hoping i could get flights for around 2.5k (2a/2c), then do SW/BG/AQ/DC tickets in BF event. Never been in Aug before (just Feb/Oct). The weather sounds... interesting, lol. But i see its low crowds and "off peak" so more manageable wait times? Also be nice to do MNSSHP xx |

As part of our trip (we are at Beach club for most of it), we also have a 7 nighter at the Homewood suites near Seaworld. Two room premium suite (kids have their own beds), $120 per night and includes breakfast. Could be cheaper for a regular room.
Once it was 7 night, the nightly rate became a flat (and cheaper) fee. |

Certainly isn't cheap anymore, back when the kids were pre school age it was great. Now they're 16 & 15
18/08 - 01/09 Drive to Glasgow & back from Sunderland - not worth worrying about, pennies on electric Premier Inn Paisley - £129 SkyPark Glasgow - £66 TUI Premium flights & Vista Cay apartment - £7929 Standard SUV with Netflights - £577 Seaworld/Busch 2 day 2 park inc food x 4 - £485 Disney/Universal Combo 14 day x 4 - £3080 1 night stay @ Royal Pacific - £356 Halloween Horror Nights (opening night) x 4 - £345 Halloween Horror Nights Express Passes x 4 - £561 God that was horrible listing it all out, and i wasn't going to get Express Passes for HHN but opening night & i suspect without them we'd get a snack and wait in a queue for a house for 2.5 hours then leave annoyed. |
