First s l r
I used my iPhone and other phones though the years to take pictures. I decided to bite the bullet :pgig and get a s l r this is my first one know just learn how to use properly

I have owned a couple of Canon Rebels, the last one was the 400D.
All were good. Enjoy the world of interchangeable lens

I found when I got my first DSLR, the photos I was taking were worse than with my bridge camera, but stick with it, it just takes a bit of getting used to

Yes thank you that what I thought I had a bridge camera for many year then went to phone camera know Dslr so I need to work on it

Took my Canon 450D with me this year and never used it, my iPhone 14 Pro took better photos, especially in low light conditions

I don't take mine to Florida either.
We have a Canon mirrorless that's quite small and takes decent photos. I'll use that and my phone over there

Being a ex RN photographer -
TBH most people use the "auto" mode .. its fine for that.. but you might as well have a bridge camera unless you are seriously into photos.. Depth of field, focal length, ISO settings etc.. its a lot to take on.. and for holidays I would just stick with a decent automatic camera. But if you want a time consuming hobby go for it.
