I've watched 3 episodes so far of the new season. I do have to say, in all honesty I think this its pretty overrated. I really want to love it but it's not doing it for me. I think the bit with the person that splits himself into several versions was probably one of the most disgusting scenes I've ever seen on TV.🤮

i thought the splinter centipede was a work of art! we need more stuff like this on tv, not less!
this weeks was amazing, from the dungeon stuff to the twist that i really didnt see coming, and the firecracker milk scene... i think its just getting more and more unhinged as it goes along, and i'm loving it more for it! it's up there with doom patrol in just how batsheet it can get |

I agree, but I think it's a bit too gratuitous. The gore and the depravity aren't necessary. It's becoming more and more difficult to watch. It does make me wonder about the minds of the people who write these things.
I've only watched a bit of Doom Patrol but what I did see of that was crazy in a fun sort of way. Whereas this is crazy in a sick, twisted sort of way at times.

watching it tonight... cant wait!
----- In light of the recent assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump, The Boys‘ Season 4 finale — which features a presidential assassination storyline — opened with a content advisory when the episode debuted on Thursday. “This episode contains scenes of fictional political violence,” reads the note at the start of the episode. “Any similarities to recent events are completely coincidental and unintentional. Prime Video, Amazon MGM Studios, Sony Pictures Television and the producers of The Boys oppose, in the strongest terms, real-world violence of any kind.” A similar message was posted on Instagram by The Boys and Prime Video, noting that The Boys “is a fictitious series that was filmed in 2023, and any scene or plotline similarities to these real-world events are coincidental and unintentional.” |

Although obviously any assassin attempt depicted in this Boys episode had no intentional links to recent events given it was filmed a year ago, there are plenty of other scenes and plotlines in the show that are somewhat based on real-world events, albeit filtered through the fictitious lens of a crazy superhero show.
Anyway, I'm glad they are still going ahead and releasing this now rather than delaying it for a few weeks (or more).

I was surprised to read that Homelander is supposed to be a parody of Trump - had never crossed my mind before.
