Last night I watched Cottage Country on Prime, a silly horror comedy. It was fun but obviously a bit gross too. Not the best film but not too bad either.

Glad to say it was a really enjoyable film and would recommend it to anyone who likes the original.
We saw this at the weekend and I must admit, I enjoyed it more than I thought I would.

Fine choices. We went to see the 25th Anniversary screening of The Mummy last weekend. It's a totally different film on a big screen.

However, where are the films from today we'll trouble ourselves to go back and watch in 25 years?

Blazing Saddles still holds up. Yes, the end of the film is a bit messy but that’s deliberate. Monty Python was doing the same ‘sabotage the ending’ thing.

People love to say ‘It wouldn’t get made today’ but of course it could. It was way ahead of its time.

I agree that it is a very good film.

Bless me father, for I have sinned. It's been never since my last confession.

I don't know how to tell you this father... but... I've never seen Blazing Saddles...

I've always felt like I'm supposed to love it like everyone else. But when I see a clip of it on the internet, or someone describes it to me, it just doesn't look funny and sounds like it's going to be a terrible film.

I'm so very sorry father.

It’s not for everyone, the humour isn’t subtle. But it tackles racism head on with a sledgehammer.

There is a lot of use of the ‘N’ word but always making a point.

Famously Mel Brooks sent the original script to his friend Richard Pryor as he was concerned he’d used the ‘N’ word too much. Pryor read the script, called Brooks to say he didn’t think he’d used it enough!
