For Aug 2022 I got flights at 2700. Aug 2020 I had flights at 2450.

It's crazy how much they fluctuate.
You started looking in January? In my experience prices would have been better October time. Particularly popular dates seem only to go up after the initial post release drop.

I know. Its a bit late.

I had been looking since release but not daily. They've been around the 4k mark. But you do need to check all the time really to get the best price.

I checked over Xmas as I got one of my prev flights on boxing day but they were over 4k this time.

Are your dates set in stone? We go as late as possible as flights are cheaper the later we go. Flights in July will definitely be more expensive than a couple of weeks later.

When is best to buy? On release day or close enough to it?

My issue is that we’re going to have to book accommodation first if we stay on site to benefit from the offers and that’ll tie us into flight dates, whereas we’re not that fixed on actual days so could be more flexible if we did flights first.

Planning our forth visit 😁

Our youngest son will be almost 15 and our older son turns 18 at the end of August 24 so decided we want to go back!

We'll probably do Busch Garden, Seaworld and Universal - we love Disney but can't justify the price of 14 day tickets if we only want to go for a couple of days 😔

We usually book a house in Windsor Hills and plan to do the same this time. I just need to be patient and wait until we get 11 months out, I'm hoping we can get a decent price on the flights - although I'm not really sure what a decent price is yet!

We usually book accommodation first but can still be flexible with dates by adding a night or two elsewhere. We can easily extend our trips so doesn’t cause us an issue to be away longer.

I start checking flight prices day of released and book when I’m happy with a price. In previous years that’s usually been a few weeks after released. I know others have had good prices waiting for sales but that’s not been the case for me.

Prices tend to be high on releases then come down somewhat after a few days.

Know what you’re happy to pay then try not to look after booking.

Set up sky scanner alerts if you’ll find it helpful.

I check Skyscanner daily when looking for flights and that’ll tell me when prices start to drop.

I prefer to book direct so just use Skyscanner as a guide and then head to the airline site.

They will be when OH books his time. I work in a school so I'm flexible. He might be able to do a day either side. But I also have plans to book the Disney part earlier.

I've been looking at flights at other times too, but end of Aug is no different, if more. Probably because I'd need to be back for 29th Aug. I know it gets cheaper as you creep into sep. But I think I'm back on 1st sep.

Next year dd isn’t back until 9/9, usually 4/5 so we manage to sneak into September which really brings the costs down.

Hey!

Excited to join the group

Definitely going August 24, ideally the last 2 weeks when the US schools have gone back and crowds are a little less.

We will be flying from Manchester to MCO on VA, should have enough points for PE so just have to hope there are reward seats available.

We were planning on stopping at POFQ or CBR but have just had a bid for DVC points at Boulder Ridge accepted, so as long as Disney don't take first refusal we will be stopping there instead. We love Wilderness Lodge, so this trip is going to be fantastic!

We will only do Disney this time, DD will only be 4 so too young for Universal for a bit.

Excited!
