Excited about Disney
|
Yes, this is our first DVC purchase, we first looked at DVC in 2009 - so wish we had bought it then! We tried to convince ourselves that we wouldn't be going regularly but we still went roughly every other year. Decided that we will go every 2 years from now until retirement and visit other places in the alternate years.

2009 was when we first looked too! Isn’t hindsight a killer. We ended up visiting almost every year from 2014 so would have had good value from it.
We’ll be back next year but then have other plans as dd will be older and is wanting to try other places. Maybe still Disney related though as we might try to do some of the Asia parks. |

Can I join, even though we won't actually be going to the parks?
We were supposed to visit in August 2020 but obviously that was cancelled, so we rebooked for August 2022. We spent 2 nights off site and then 14 nights at POR, and stayed within the Disney bubble for 2 weeks. Although we had a lovely time, we were quite underwhelmed / disappointed with various aspects of WDW, especially in comparison to our previous visit in 2015. DH will be 50 in 2024 so we're planning a 16 night trip, staying off site and although we'll get a small Disney fix by visiting DS and various hotels etc we're not planning on buying any park tickets. The plan is to have a relaxing holiday in the sun, lots of pool time, Kennedy Space Centre, restaurants and generally taking everything at a relaxed pace. |

Looks like I might be changing my plans up a bit as I managed to find term dates for another London borough and it looks like we’ll only be getting a 5 1/2 week summer break next year, it seems to happen every few years, so dd will be back a few days earlier than I’d hoped.
Means we’ll be looking at cruising a week earlier, at least we’ll be able to make use of our placeholder now, but I think overall it’ll work out more expensive. So dates will now be 10-31 August I think unless we do a couple of days at Vero after the cruise instead which might help with flight prices as we’d then be 12 Aug - 2 Sep. |

Hello! Also planning for Aug 2024 after original booking in 2020 was cancelled 😞.
Nothing firm yet for us but 3 adults & 3 children (eldest will turn 13 there, 11 & 7 when we go). Planning 2 weeks on site at Disney (really hoping for DDP or at least credits 🤞 and then 1 week universal. Look forward to reading all your plans 🤩 |

We are booked Aug 24, 2 adults and son will be 13. Flying Edinburgh 14 Aug, 4 night Royal Pacific, then 12 nights Buena Vista Suites. Havent added a car as prices are crazy so may just use uber and hotel free shuttles. So excited already, this will be our 3rd visit.

Hi everyone! Also planning for August 2024. We went for the first time in August 2022 (after covid cancelled our plans for 2020). We didn't plan to go back so soon but this year dh is 50 and next August so am I and we decided this was the place we wanted to celebrate! Had already booked a 2 night stay at DLP for Dec 23 before we decided so lots of Disney planning coming up.
Also, our children are getting older and I fear there are not many years left when they will want to go away with us. Next year ds will be 24 and my dd's will be 21 (so she is pleased that she can have a drink this time) and 17. Currently planning on 3 nights in New York (belated birthday surprise for dh - he doesn't know about this part of the trip yet) then 9-10 nights in the bubble. Stayed at Yacht Club last year and couldn't fault it, especially for 5 of us in one room, so hope to be heading back there. Nothing booked yet. Waiting for WDW offers in April/May then will book BA flight with NY hotel in September. |

Moving over here from the Aug 23 board as we have to postpone our trip due to one of the party being unwell; hoping we can rebook everything as per this year
