Chessington will be in the new ULEZ zone

So I’m a Merlin pass holder, and discovered yesterday that Chessington is included in the new ULEZ zone, starting at the end of August.
Unfortunately for us our main car we would have to pay for (£12.50 a day) so will now have to pack everyone into my tiny petrol car.

Just wanted to give other people a warning to check their cars before going! I would hate for anyone to get caught out.

What car do you have as I've just checked mine (3.7litre petrol) and I wouldn't get charged.

Never driven in a ulez so don't know the emission rates.

ULEZ is to do with NOx NOx2 emissions.. most petrol and newer diesel cars are fine.. its mainly older diesel cars that are no good.. (6 Years or more) u can check your car on the TFL website

I cant remember if I read Thorpe Park is too, or if it misses it?
I think our car is OK as I'm sure I checked it not that long ago, but its going to be quite a bit ontop of an already expensive trip for some people

My car is fine as it’s a petrol, which is good as my work place is within the new zone too. My dh car is a ‘eco’ diesel. He pay no road tax for it but isn’t exempt in the new zone. Frustrating as we live on the border of it too so he will have to be really careful where he drives

my car would be charged and as such I will be avoiding any venue in the new ULEZ zone . My hope is that others do this and its hits trade so much they rethink the zones.
For those flying out of Heathrow it also includes that area. Plus if the M25 is closed for an accident and you are diverted you are likley with have to pay as well.

Looks like my airport drop off days are over at £17.50 a time. I suppose I could drive round London all day to get my moneys worth

And have you heard the newest suggestion which some councils have already started and it could be rolled out further. The idea is to charge you more for parking if you have an older disel car. So people who keep cars for years so as not to impact on resources and landfill now have to pay more for parking as well. Also some councils are charging more for parking permits if you have an older vehicle.

I feel really sorry for people who can not afford to replace their vehicle.

I have a disel because several years ago the goverment encourage it as they were better for the environment, now i'm paying the price.
