I have watched the Jota 1st booking and I cannot see him clip him deliberately or accidentally. Regardless to describe the offside as a mistake is slightly underplaying it.
I said on an earlier post that it was a horrific decision... Trust that suits the situation a little better?

how's them £30 away tickets? yes Liverpool fans were at the heart of that!
calm down eh ?

we did protest believe it was dismissed as a "matter of fact decision". Nonsense.

The point I was making was its not anti Liverpool

I can remember signing a FSF led petition for the away ticket cap but kudos if Liverpool fans instigated this

The 2 reds where the correct decision.

Jones was a red all day long regardless of the still in which the ref saw first. This was a leg breaker with a straight leg... just because the likes of Van Dijk etc has gotten away with it in the past does not make it a yellow card only.

Again, regardless whether he goes over the ball we have seen in recent years the follow through is taken into account as much as the challenge and any contact made with the ball. This was a cowards challenge by Jones...

Jota first yellow was soft I agree but you see them given as a yellow week in week out. Accidental but Jota's knee clips the spurs player foot and causes him to trip.

You do not see Jota complain about this yellow because he knows he has clipped him and ultimately stopped a break. 2nd yellow is stupid considering he is already on a yellow!
The first yellow for Jota was soft? he didn't touch the spurs player...

follow throughs have been taken into account for years... really you bring VVD into it, how many games did the great Jordan Pickford get for putting him out for the season?

Harry Kane on Robertson 2 years ago? Skipp on Diaz last year... a 2 footed lunge that sent Robertson flying, leg breaker it would have cut him in to two if he stood there...

back to the jones incident, he's pulled back as he goes the challenge, throwing him of balance, Wins the ball a fraction before the spurs player who's leg has then gone through and ended up under jones right foot what on earth is he to do? just become weightless and float?

what's he been sent off for ? serious foul play? Violent conduct?

football is a contact sport, every chellenge has the opportunity or potential to hurt a player if a player stands on the ball like he did, I not the Tottenham player walked off and then come right back on...

take your blue tinted glasses off for a second and think about what your suggesting for one minute.

Not sure if that works, but check that one and again tell me he doesn't catch him albeit accidentally.

The players reaction is also quite clear as he holds his hand up when the decision is made and then from what I can see does not challenge the ref when he is given a yellow card.

How does Jones pull back? You mean he leans back to allow for a straighter leg... a foot high off the floor.

It's a cowards challenge and you can see it in his face... deserves a red any day of the week for that!

So you protested, got told to pipe down and did... there's the issue, we don't!

SOS or Spirit of Shankly as they are officially known instigated it all with the FSF, I think MUST may have been involved aswell.

so I take it your a Newcastle fan as you didn't correct me, this goal was it Isak where he was just ahead of Gomez...

The problem is that yes mistakes happen but these decisions are ruining the games. Like most Liverpool fans I’m outraged at the incompetence of such an obvious error . The card situations too. McAllister being sent off but rescinded would have been too late if we had not won the game. The Jones red card was taken out of context without showing how it came about , it should have been a yellow card. Jota should not have been given the first yellow, but should have done for the offence where he got sent off.
The real issue is football itself. What if it had not been Liverpool but a team being relegated, not just the emotional side but all the financial implications that could have occurred .

VAR has ruined the game. I was at Stoke City 😀 last week where games are played without VAR. Goals are celebrated when they are scored and fans accept that the referee makes mistakes from time to time. Now we have VAR and refs making mistakes😀
