Gifts for 18 year old girl

DS is coming home for Christmas (moved abroad a couple of weeks ago) and bringing his girlfriend with him.

I want to make DS girlfriend feel welcome and make sure she doesn’t feel like she is missing out on Christmas morning.

What do your DDs like?

I’m thinking clothes, Fragrance, make up etc.

I feel all of these things are personal things and because she lives abroad, I don’t know her that well to know her style really.

Thank you all 🤗

We had the same issue a few years ago when our son who lives abroad brought his girlfriend home for Christmas. Firstly, check with your son if she has any allergies or if there’s anything she’s got strong feelings about such as no animal tested products etc. You could also ask him if he has any ideas, but if he’s anything like our son, he’ll say not to worry as she’ll love anything (which is no help whatsoever 🙄 )

As they were coming from a hot country, we bought a nice but inexpensive warm scarf and gloves, fluffy socks, chocolates including a chocolate orange as it’s traditional in our family, some nice shower gel and body cream, Candle and, for fun as we’re Welsh and she was American, a Gavin and Stacey DVD

Thank you.
Some lovely ideas. I will be doing a Christmas Eve box with a few goodies in like popcorn, hot chocolate, face mask, bath bomb etc. I know she uses those things as she came to stay for a few days before DS left.

I’m sure she will appreciate the gifts and the effort you make to include her. I know our son’s girlfriend enjoyed being part of the family and spending time with us and getting to know us. Christmas is a lovely time for a visit

I've got my son's gf (21) a book (she loves to read) bubble tea set & a small gin gift set. I've then got them a glamping weekend voucher as they love camping.
I'll probably get her some chocolate & a fragrance set too.

Are her ears pierced? If so, some pretty earrings. My daughter has 3 piercings in each ear so I always buy inexpensive, sterling silver, earrings which she loves because she is forever loosing an earring 🙈🙈
My daughter also loves fluffy socks, the more the merrier because she also manages to loose these and ends up with odd ones (due to the sock monster)
Pj’s, you can’t go wrong with pjs at Christmas 🤩
I can’t recommend Joma jewellery (bracelets) enough they come beautifully packaged and are so versatile, I guarantee she would love the bracelets 🥰

I would definitely ask your son about perfume because taste varies so much, what smells lovely to one person smells like cat pee to another 🙈🤣🙈

Thanks FT, I’ve now ordered from Joma for my daughter as you made me look 😂

Another nice jewellery brand, especially if she’s into nature/animals, is Fable England. Our daughter loves their jewellery and I have a beautiful backpack from there

My two DDs always seem to end up loosing the backs for earrings.

My youngest got a Joma bracelet off a friend for her birthday and it came in a lovely little bag with her name on the tag. I am definitely going to get them some stuff from there for Christmas.

My daughter 21 likes jelly cat, I got her a popcorn bag for her birthday and she has two bunny’s and two fried eggs. She would also like gift cards from Starbucks, Nando’s, Wagamama, Costa. Afternoon tea is good too,Christmas pyjamas, fluffy socks and eye mask, bath bombs all nice things too. Have fun choosing x
