I popped to the local shops to get a new Christmas jumper, hardly any people and no traffic. Then went to Waitrose and not many people either. I think everyone thought It would be rammed and stayed away.

I feel quite good that I’m done now, and feel going out early was a good thing to do! As we left town it was getting very busy. I suppose there has been a long build up this year, local schools broke up on Tuesday so nearly a full week before the big day!

We’ve been to 4 of the supermarkets in our small town.

Luckily none of them were too bad and we’ve got everything we needed.

Just need cash for the various kids (I don’t even try to buy appropriate gifts now) for their presents but we can get that tomorrow when we go for a walk.

We went to B&Q Tradepoint and was shocked that we didn’t get stuck in any traffic either getting in or out (it’s next to the shopping centre). Hardly anyone in B&Q and very quiet roads which was bizarre.

I did the M&S food shop at 7am yesterday and am so glad that I did. It was so quiet! We put it all in the car, had a Costa and waited for the shops to open at 9am for last minute gifts. The roads were definitely busier yesterday.
