I haven’t really looked at Southgate’s attire before so don’t know if this is normal for him , but seemed really odd to me that he didn’t have anything ‘ England ‘ on him tonight . Just looked like he had nipped to Asda and picked up a plain polo shirt

We'll back to reality.

North End 9th August stuffing the Blades, then morning after off to Margaritaville 😃

Southgate is boringly, monotonously useless. Zzzzzzzz

As others have said, best team won and it would have been a travesty if they hadn’t. Spain beat France, Germany, Italy and Croatia. England edged Netherlands and scraped draws against a series of small nations with little footballing pedigree.

I like Southgate but he got things badly wrong in this tournament - the negative style of play and the loyalty to Kane, when he was blessed with a squad which includes many of the most exciting attacking players in Europe.

Best team won it yes…. Well deserved.

We did get the lucky side of the draw and fully agree we should have done better with the players we have.

Tbf I don’t like Southgate, but some sort of credit getting us to 2 finals in 3 years (bit of luck granted).

As a 40yr old Everton and England supporter that is 4 finals in my lifetime (ok I don’t remember 80s). 1 win in those finals.

Character building and something I have to tell me 7yr old tonight whilst he is devastated losing the 2nd final in his 1st 7 years.

Thanks Southgate but time to go. Kane should never had even started any of the last 3 games

Beating Spain is not for everyone. But I do recall one team beating them in the qualifiers.

Just on a train back to Hannover for the flight home. Absolutely no complaints, the best team in the tournament won. Throughout England have been a team of moments and have never put together a 90 minute performance. We also seem to go into games more concerned about negating the other teams strengths rather than capitalising on our own. We kept the Spanish wingers quiet for the first half but one slip early on in the second and you're chasing the game. Southgate makes the right changes and we get the equaliser and then sit back again rather than pressing on.
Despite the disappointment it's been a blast watching the games, but I hope now we get in a new manager who wants to play to our strengths rather than concentrating on how to stop teams playing against us.
Roll on Dublin, Helsinki and Athens.
