Does anyone use fit-over sunglasses?

I'm trying to avoid having to buy prescription sunglasses and my regular glasses cost enough as it is. I've been considering buying sunglasses designed to fit over regular glasses but was wondering if anyone else has used these and can give me some feedback? Do you have a particular brand you can recommend?

I have a pair of fit over sunglasses, main gripe I have are that they are a bit bulky…out of necessity I guess as they are designed to be useful with a wide range of glasses. Don’t know the brand…they were purchased off QVC years ago!

In preference I now have a pair of glasses from Select Specs which came with a tailor made clip on, which when fitted you can hardly tell is a clip on…much better option in my opinion.

I bought a cheap pair of sunglasses and took them to a local glasses store. They do all aspects of sales/replacement/glazing ect.. all you need is your prescription and they’ll put the lenses in for you. I think online places might do it as well? Think it cost about £40

We bought some over glasses which are polarised from Walmart they work well and include smaller lenses on the side. Although bulky do work well when the sun is very bright.

Thanks. Unfortunately I have a really strong prescription so it would probably cost a lot more than that plus I have to keep replacing them.

Both DH and I have normal glasses that have a metallic sunglass part that connects really easily. DH's are Armani. You wouldn't know unless you looked very closely

I have fit over ones that I use on my driving glasses, an absolute God send. Bought them in Boots as my prescription glasses came from there so was able to try various ones over my own glasses in the shop. When I back out of our drive I just flip the sunglass bit up for a good clear view in my mirrors then flip then down again to drive.

I have Cocoons which are great for me, they cover the side bits which I like when driving. They look bulky but I don't mind that.

I too have expensive lenses and have used these fit over sunglasses from Amazon many times in Florida and found them excellent especially as they don't let the sun it at the sides. They are easy to slip off when moving to different lighting areas at rides too. They are a little bulkier than normal sunglasses though.

TBH I have recently invested in a pair of prescription sunglasses and wish I hadn't bothered the fit over ones seem to work much better for me and are a bargain at only £14.99 a pair.

You can always try them and return them if they don't work for you.

Hope this helps

We’ve got these but only for reading at the pool and do the job. Just need to check they are similar shape to your glasses
