Olympics closing ceremony tonight

Let's hope it's better than the opening one which in my view apart from Celine Dion was a load of tosh. Rumours abound about Tom Cruise leaping into the stadium to collect the Olympic flag and its already heavily hinted that he recorded the second part in March in LA.

I hope the solemnity of the flame being extinguished and the lowering of the flag is given some recognition before the athletes celebrate and the entertainment begins.

Just my opinion.

It's not just you. I feel the same. The opening ceremony wasn't for me, I can't put into words what I didn't like but it just didn't strike me as right for some reason.

Also agree about the flame and the flag, it's a very important part and I hope it's not hijacked by the need to "perform".

Not going to watch it but I’ve absolutely loved the olympics. Watched way more than I thought. What’s been brilliant for me is the my youngest daughter who is 15 has no interest in sport or watching but has been absolutely glued to it from start to finish. Hopefully it inspires her to try something.

I love the Olympics and will really miss it being on. It's served as a great distraction from my crappy life 😂 I was super disappointed with the opening ceremony, and showed my kids the London 2012 ceremony so that they knew what a good one looked like. My son was glued to it! I won't be watching the closing ceremony tonight. If I hear that it was worth a watch then I'll watch a repeat, but I am battling the toddler and I'd rather just watch Hells Kitchen or something when he falls asleep!

I’m finding it all very boring. Not a big sports fan, unlike DH so fed up with it all. No real alternative on TV as mostly repeats etc

It all turned very Cirque de Soleil, but without the spectacle
