4th July at Kissimmee Lakefront Park

Looking to see what we might do on Independence Day. Really want a genuine american experience (not theme park based) and it appears that there is a fairly big all day public event at Kissimmee Lakefront Park which culminates in a firework display at night.

Has anyone been before and how would you rate it? I'm especially keen to find out practical things like what would be the best time to arrive, the lowdown on where to park, whether it's suitable for older people (who may need to sit for a while) etc etc.

It would also be interesting to know if there were any other places that might be as good or better.
