New places to go and things to do!
I am still looking for new places to go and things to do, particularly during the daytime.
As much as I love the theme parks and shopping outlets, I really would like to do something different. Some people have suggested hot air ballooning, air boat rides and nature parks. All great ideas but still not sufficiently different. Surely there are places that don't figure in the usual tourist guides which dibbers have stumbled on and which fit the bill? Go on, spill the beans! |

Have you thought of going to the beaches?
Stunning, only a short drive away?

Have you had a look at the list of suggestions at the beginning of this forum. It is a great list that has been put together.
DeLeon Springs is a great suggestion and the restaurant is good fun. Twenty minutes from there is Blue Springs which has a (twice daily) boat tour that is brilliant. I always suggest going for breakfast at DeLeon Springs and then on over to Blue Springs for the boat tour. Depending on the time of year you are here you could see upwards of 250 manatees as they are there during the winter months. |

My DS is a golf fan so one morning we just took a drive around Bay Hill, Windermere and Heathrow - how the other half live! Fabuous houses, lakes and yet so near to everything Orlando has to offer.
When (if) we win the lottery then it will be a villa at Lake Nona or similar ! I can but dream. Ruth |

These are some suggestions given to me by other villa owners we have not tried them all but plan to go to some when we are over next.
Lavender N Lace Tea Rooms is located in a residential area the signs will direct you to a quaint little house with an area to park your car to the side. The surroundings are very quaint and quite delightful and the food is suppose to be even better and they have desserts to die for. Afterward you can have a lovely walk round the gift shop and garden area where they had huge selection of stock and unusual gifts. It is only open from 11am until 3.30pm, Mon - Sat and a lunch visit was highly recommend to me, the added bonus is it is just a stone's throw from lake Alfred ci.lake-alfred.fl.us/parks.asp. We pick our own fruit and have many times.
showcaseofcitrus/ We have also purchased fresh squeezed OJ that is wonderful. Just a little place off of 192 on 27 north. We have fresh fruit for our stay and some for smoothies and margaritas. Not everything is always in season. |
