We spent 10 nights here last year and absolutely loved it. Boca Grande, Anna Marie and Fort Desoto beaches - stunning.

Myaka State River Park - beautiful - we lots of alligators in their natural habitat.

We also went kayaking from Fort Myers and saw dolphins and stingrays.

It was so relaxing, we actually had a BBQ one evening - something we have never achieved in the previous 6 visits to Florida! We also spent more time in the solar heated pool at Dragonflies - it was such a lovely villa, Paul and Bernadette aver thought of everything - beach towels, cool boxes. Loved it.
I'm even more excited now...Thank you
We are ready to relax so Dragonflies sounds just the place

We always go for the Gulf coast these days, having done the Disney bit when our boys were young. Even if we're with the grandchildren we split our stay 50/50. There isn't as much entertainment around as in Orlando but the kids love a bit of time on the beach and if you choose a home with a decent pool they will be happy. We usually go for Naples, Bonita Beach or Springs, Englewood area, Sanibel or Anna Maria Island.
Personally I would avoid Ft Myers Beach, we drove through a few times and it reminded us of a Floridian Blackpool. (Sorry if you're a Blackpool fan). Stayed on Rotunda, nice house, plenty of golf courses but a drive for anything else. The beaches are usually great and if you want to see a lovely sunset that's the place to be especially if you can find a nice restaurant to watch it from.
