He’s a idiot he could of handled it so much better, shouting at people reminds me of school and a kid being called out in the playground in front of other kids!

I agree with the above.
I felt he was right to confront them and say something but he seemed to go way over the top. Mind you, sometimes I feel you have to go over the top with some people in order for the point to sink in.

Apparently the production of MI7 had already been hit with some of the crew coming down with COVID and has faced delays and pressures due to this. So it's not the first time that the crew had been told to uphold social distancing restrictions.
The foul language is still not really acceptable though.

Completely over the top. If someone shouted at me in that way, I’m more likely to remember the fact that he shouted, rather than what he was actually saying.

People are comparing this to Cristian Bale's outburst on the set of Terminator ,which was very difficult to listen to ( and he did apologise later)
You can tell Tom Cruise he is stressed and you can also tell he is wearing a mask as the speech is slightly muffled I don't believe Tom Cruise has form for this so he must have been seriously riled and if people are breaking rules of social distancing etc he was right to call them out Bad language maybe not called for , but he sounds like he has been pushed to the edge and these productions cost hundreds of millions of dollars and the cinema industry is on its knees and it keeps hundreds of people in employment. |

I think we have to separate TC the actor from TC the producer. His rant came from the producer role, who is clearly under heightened stress and responsible for making sure the movie stays on schedule, on budget, and ultimately the safety of everyone working on the picture is not compromised. I would be shocked to learn this rant was the very first warning or mention to these people... sounds like a 'straw that broke camel back' situation to me.
I get that the foul language may be harsh to some, but lets also consider the work environment. I am guessing the entertainment industry (i.e. movie set) has a higher threshold for obscenities than the average doctor's office, grocery store, school, etc. I know around my office we don't curse constantly... but an f bomb here and there is not uncommon. Wouldn't raise an eyebrow. |
