Did we mention we like a drink? Day 8 August 18

Today started with a quick breakfast at the Avanti and by 9.30am all 9 of us were on the way to Clearwater it was an easy journey and as you can see a beautiful blue sky was in front of us.

We arrived at Pier House 60 around 11.30 and parked in the covered garage our room was ready we had an ocean view on the front the others had paid for a balcony so had harbour view. As we were checking in there was another English family who was told there 3rd child wouldn't have a bed it was either sharing with the other 2 or sleeping on the floor which was poor given they had booked a room for 5. The hotel room was large and location was excellent.

We all soon headed for the beach and paid for 2 beds and an umbrella $30 the sun was brutal just lying there the sweat was dripping off us. We just chilled all day the kids were in the seal and building a sandcastle the boys went and fetched us beer and water for the cooler. We stayed until the sunbeds were due to close at 5pm. The boys headed back and the ladies walked the kids to the inflatables by the pier. 2 slides for $5 they were all happy and we headed black to shower and change.

Once we were ready we headed up to the roof top bar it was lovely up there and we soon got a couple of drinks in.

We all decided to head down to the pier around 7pm to watch the sunset it was beautiful we walked to the end of the pier and watched the sun disappear then on the way back we saw a dolphin playing which was really special. It was now gone 8pm and we were all starving, the issue now was everyone had the same idea watch the sunset then get dinner so we just walked around and found the first place without a queue which was called cooters.

Cooters soon had us seated I went for the seafood platter, dh had the ribs. Ribs were really good and my seafood platter was okay the seafood clearly wasn't that fresh though the shrimp was tasteless and when one of the others spoke to the waitress about it she made a joke about it coming from Taiwan. The did comp one shrimp and then rather naughtily when they brought the bill out it included tip which was fine except they had circled the amount due so it wasn't clear the tip was already included.

Overall the food was okay but I think we were all hoping for better seafood being at the coast. It was now almost 10pm so we slow walked back grabbing the children an ice cream on the way before hitting the sack. We were all hoping for one more drink but the hotel bar doesn't allow children after 10pm.

The plan tomorrow is more beach and the sea screamer before heading back to idrive.

Lovely relaxing day
We love Clearwater and the Seascreamer, don't know if you've done this before but if you can try and get seats at the back we found it to be the best view of the dolphins

Thank you they told us to arrive 20 mins before so will try and get there early for the back seats.
