My Epic Christmas Fail

Have managed to recover from my Epic Christmas Fail.

There I was this morning, sitting at home waiting for my Waitrose delivery and feeling smugly satisfied that I'd managed to order the bird for Christmas Day. Hmmm, I wonder what time the delivery is, I thought? I'll just check my email. OK, here we are. Delivery between 8 and 9 on 27th December.

SOUND OF SCREECHING TYRES

27th? Whaaaat?

Must have clicked on the wrong date!

Fortunately Morrisons was open at 7am and very quiet. And even more fortunately, I had a nice lot of savings stamps to spend.

Result - duck for Christmas Day with all the trimmings.

Relax everyone, Christmas is saved!

Phew. That was close. Glad you sorted. I’m gonna brave Aldi and I don’t even need actual food just a book. Thinking it will be very busy

I have only ever attempted a Christmas lunch once and it was an epic fail. (This was when we were first married)

We don't ever even eat roast dinners so I had no idea what I was doing but we had family coming round so thought I would give it a go, I bought a frozen turkey and thought taking it out the freezer the night before would be OK, clearly not and equally thought it would be then be OK to cook a frozen turkey as it had not defrosted, well it was a complete shambles and the best I could rustle up was a variety of frozen ready meals out of the freezer. needless to say I was never encouraged to cook again, and still I have never cooked a roast diner in 26 years of marriage

No, we'll have it for New Year!

It's mostly 'normal shopping' anyway, we already bought most of the Christmas stuff except the bird and veg.

So now we have duck for Christmas and guinea fowl for new year!
