Humidity

We are thinking of going to Singapore, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Beijing in August 2020 but I keep reading about the brutal humidity. How does it compare to Florida in August? I work in a school so August is the time that we have to take our holidays.

I live in Singapore and the weather here (year round - equatorial) is pretty much comparable to Florida in summer. Heat/humidity can be pretty brutal during the day (I went walking around a park last week around midday and it was hot/humid/sweaty) but mornings/evenings are actually fairly pleasant. A lot of places have covered walkways and air conditioning though so it's not that bad.

Can't help with HK/Shanghai/Beijing but I'd imagine their summers are probably pretty hot, not sure about humidity though.

We were in Hangzhou early last September, its couple of hundred miles below Shanghai . I would say it’s on a par with Florida, plenty of places with air con, loads of shops to buy water, loved it. Only thing I would definitely recommend is bug spray...lots of it...the little buggars come out after tea time. We had the jungle spray with us, worked a treat, as long as you keep applying it often.
As you can see from my countdown, it hasn’t put us off
