Anyone here done the Med with RCL?

Specifically on an Oasis class? I think Symphony did this itinerary in 2018, and we have just booked with the Oasis for this September.

Itinerary is

Barcelona
Palma, Majorca
Marseille
La Spezia
Rome
Naples
Sea Day
Barcelona

First cruise with RCL.

We also did the Indy out of Southampton back in June 2011 calling at Gibraltar, Toulon, Livorno, Rome, Corsica, Lisbon and Vigo.

We don't drink much alcohol to be honest so didn't run up a large bar bill but we did do a few "official" excursions. Florence and Pisa from Livorno and Rome. Caught local buses from the port gates to tour Corsica and Lisbon.

Plenty to do on the boat and loads of dining options.

We did a similar cruise to this on the Allure in ‘15. The ship was fantastic with loads to do, great entertainment and food choices.
We didn’t do any of the ships excursions as it was quite simple and a lot cheaper to do them diy.
Is there anything specific you would like to know?

Just a general vibe of how you found it? Crowds, dining etc? We are going in September, so I’m hoping the ship won’t be at capacity. But also not sure how we will fare with weather at that time of year.

I’ve looked in The Cruise Planner and yes, the excursions seem a bit expensive. I think we can handle that side of things ourselves. Am also planning to stay onboard and enjoy the ship on the Rome day, as We were there fairly recently.

Both our med cruises were in September and we had great weather both times. Also, it seems a popular time to sail as both times the ship was at capacity.
The only time we had to wait for a table at evening meal time was on the last night when it seemed like everyone wanted to eat at the same time.
The ship never felt crowded.
We’re booked on another RCI cruise next year, on the Anthem and are really looking forward to it.

Nice thanks! Fingers crossed for the weather then.

Did you do traditional dining (if so which seating?) or My Time Dining?

We’ve always done my time dining as we prefer to eat when we want.

We are going on the Oasis of the Seas, Western Mediterranean Cruise on 18th August from. Barcelona.

Our first ever cruise and finding it difficult to decide on which excursions to take.

Oh fabulous! Excited to hear how you get along then! The only excursion decision I have made is that for the La Spezia stop I won’t do Florence or Pisa. We’re gonna stay local and explore Cinque Terra.

We're doing the same cruise on the 16th June on the Oasis
Looking at excursions at the moment and am thinking of doing them privately myself. Has anyone used Cruise Excursions?
On a side note have you seen the news about the crane falling on the Oasis whilst in for repair this week? Looks like it might be out of action for a few weeks but thankfully no one seriously injured.
