What are Hertz like?
Do you choose from a line like at Alamo or get given a car like at Avis?
Can you go straight to garage?

Costco have a fab price for our dates, but we've not used Hertz before..🤔

I am used to booking normally with BA/Avis or Alamo - and it's great with CDW etc - always know we are fully covered for any damage so do not have to worry about anything.

Is this the same regardless who you book with - or do you have to be very careful?

The costco list of insurances covered for my booking is
INCLUDED IN THE RATES
Loss Damage Waiver
Total Sales Tax
Liability Insurance Supplement
Vehicle Licence Fee (VLF)
State Surcharge
Vehicle Licence Fee
Energy Surcharge
Unlimited Miles Included

I checked to see if the additional discount made it cheaper for me but no - still very happy with my £309 for 11 days for a Mustang. This is from the Hertz W.Bronson location.

One thing to add is you also need to register on the costcotravel site as well once you have your membership number.
