Absolutely loved jasper!

We were lucky enough to see lots of wildlife while driving around including bear cubs.

But I’d still recommend Jasper Wildlife Tours if you fancy seeing the National Park with a local who has a passion for the area. Joe who runs the tour was great jaspertourcompany/tours/wildlife-tour

If you like the idea of horse riding, definitely recommend the bow river ride in Banff- it’s just a half day and includes cowboy games and barbecue. The views were outstanding

we were two adults and two children. I’d ridden as a teen, my husband had been on twice before and the kids never. It was just great!

It was with discover Banff tours ltd - Cowboy cookout!

They help you the whole way through and everyone walks on the horses in a line so it’s all very safe and secure. The horses were just gorgeous, and the food was lovely. There were about 7 of us on the hack but they keep families and couples together.

Riding a horse is a bit sore afterwards around the bottom area (!) just to warn you 😊

Hahhaha! I have ridden once as a child actually and experienced the pain ! Thanks for the heads up hahaha.

I am definitely going to check that out, sounds fab! I'd just make sure to factor in a less busy day the next day to make up for the sore bum haha. xx

On your itinerary, I would think twice about a two night stop over in kamloops. Only because there really isn’t much there. At all! (Sorry to anyone reading yhis who lives in kamloops)!

You could consider a night in whistler en route, which is lovely and there is lots to do, or just an extra night in vancouver

Also when you get to jasper, DO go to to Tourist information centre and DO pick up some bear spray - if you plan on walking anywhere, Eg around lake Louise or even some of the small lakes, there are bears! So it will be a good thing to have. We never had to use ours thankfully but I felt safer with it. The only scary thing we saw on foot was by lake Louise when I turned to my left and saw a giant brown furry face looking at me - it was a beaver! I never realised how big they are ☺️

Having spent a single night in Kamloops last Summer, I definitely agree with Princess Alison’s advice to drop a night from your planned stay if you can. That extra night would be much better spent elsewhere.

I am aware Kamloops is quiet and it literally is just a stop off.I personally wanted an extra night in Vancouver... I won't be driving and so i left the decision to my boyfriend and he said he'd rather have a chilled day than driving, sleep, driving - so, I thought it fair to let him choose.

xx
