Majorca hotels I have earmarked ...
After going through one of my holiday brochers (yet again), I have earmarked three hotels in Majorca. Has anyone had any experience of any of these places?
Viva Golf in Alcudia (may not take two children in one room). We only want one room Ferrera Blanca in Cala d'or Gran Santa Ponsa in Santa Ponsa |

I just had a quick scoot through holidaysuncovered and found 2 reviews for Viva Golf, 30 for Ferrera Blanca & 3 for Gran Santa Ponsa (are the last two apartments?).
Sorry, couldn't link direct to each page but its fairly easy to use, all alphabetical, just use the drop-down menu. HTH Diane |

We didn`t like Santa Ponsa. Cala d`or is really nice, in fact it`s vey pretty on the East Coast, one of the nicest parts of the island. Cala Bona and Cala Millor which are also on the East Coast are lovely too. Puerto Pollensa is our favourite though, it`s really beautiful there. Have you also considered Minorca as that is even more child friendly than Majorca?

Cala d'or is a fantastic place to stay, loads to do but its not a massive headbanging disco. Beaches are usually quiet coves and are safe for the kids to play in. We stayed in the Hotel Ponent Playa and thought it was fantastic, its about 1km out of Cala d'or in Cala Blanes (I think) We travelled with TCD and they were very cheap (Around £2500 for 10 days for the 4 of us) but the only downside was that we had to have 2 twin rooms, but they were next to each other anyway so it didn't put us off. If you were looking to go to Alcudia, i would stay outside in Puerto Pollensa as alcudia can get very busy during the summer season while when we stayed in the Hobby Club Apartments in PP and it was perfect, not too busy and in a great location. Try with TCD for majorca for the Ponent and First Choice for the hobby club in Puerto Pollensa.
With TCD you can book on there hotline 0800 093 87 87 Edited at 07:24 PM. |

we have stayed in Alcudia and didn't really like it, quite a big resort and very English if you know what I mean, I thought Cala D'or looked lovely when we went for the day

Another vote for Cala D'or. We stayed in an apartment near cala Ferrara. Lovely beaches, small coves with really shallow water stretching quite far out. Some good shops in Cala D'or too...just watch out for the cocktails...lethal...nuff said

Had a look on the Airtours site and they have 14 night flydrive leaving on 5th July ADULT BASIC PRICE £339.00 2 £678.00 CHILD BASIC PRICE £339.00 1 £339.00 2ND CHILD PRICE £339.00 1 £339.00 FUEL CHARGE LH £25.00 4 £100.00 FLIGHT MEAL £15.00 2 £30.00 FLIGHT MEAL £15.00 2 £30.00 EXCLUSIVE ONLINE DISCOUNT £-60.00 Total £1456.00 That leaves nearly £1,010 for a car and accomodation. You could probably get a car for £250-300 which means if you found somewhere to stay for $80-90 per night it would cost the same as Dan's 10 days in Majorcia

We stayed at the Son Mateus Beach Hotel in Palma Nova and it was lovely, it's right on the beach so we could just nip down for a dip in the sea without having to take all the towels etc.
Also the entertainment was very good, we never had the same thing twice in the 2 weeks we were there. Don't forget the Caves of Drach as these are lovely especially when the boats appear all lit up, you can visit them from anywhre on the island. Magalluf is just round the corner but we never had any problems with drunks etc. Love Rio |
