Australia - looking for info for a possible future trip
I've been milling with the idea of maybe going to Australia in a few years time. It's not always been top of my bucket list but been thinking about it more and more recently.
A few days ago I managed to trace a cousin of mines who i've never met before and she now lives in Perth, Australia. She was born in Scotland and they moved to South Africa way before I was even thought about (back in the 60's). Anyway, I always assumed they all still lived in South Africa but have since discovered that although my aunty, uncle and other cousin still lives in South Africa, Annette moved to Australia Perth is not a place I had in mind to visit but that's all changed now I know I have a cousin there. She owns a guest house about an hours drive north of Perth and says she would be delighted to have us over. We would probably fly into Perth first and maybe spend about a week here. Not sure if this is too long or not long enough. I imagine we'd then be looking at internal flights as I also want to visit Sydney and the Gold coast. I we have the finances i'd also like to take in a cruise too Would probably go for a month if possible Any other suggestions of places to visit etc? x |

We have been to Perth and loved it... we also loved Sydney, but we weren't so keen on Cairns although we liked the surrounding area

I'd be interested in any thoughts on this. Dh best friend emigrated years ago and constantly asks us over(he lives in PErth too)so we were thinking of Easter 2015 but haven't a clue where to start. I'd want to go to sydney as well whilst there... if we go!.

You should remember that Perth and Sydney are a 4 hour flight apart

Yeah I had a look at flight times and prices tonight for internal flights. Still to google hotels to see if it would be possible for us to go. Would probably still have to take the boys with us *gulp* x
We seem to like the same places Sue |

Think it makes it more appealing when you know people over there, that's what's done it for me
Would dearly love to meet this side of my family |

We did Sydney, Townsville, Magnetic Island, Brisbane and then back down the coast to Sydney. Worth a quick read if you are looking for ideas?
