North of PD you can go crocodile spotting, in Cairns take the cable car up to Kuranda, defo not to be missed. Good half day there.

I don't know kids stuff in Sydney that much, acquarium and zoo, IMAX, Luna park, ferry to manly?

Is it advisable to hire a car or is everything easily accessable by public transport?

In Perth we made great use of the free buses that run round the city. we got a train up to Hilary's too. Not sure how we would have got on elsewhere without family to drive us. we relied on them and pre-booked excursions to get around

I liked Movie World and Wet and Wild, beware though, if it is school holidays the queue's can be hours! Even for a water slide

Depends on your itinerary, you wouldn't want a car in the CBD of any city, will cost you a fortune to park. Cairns, Gold Coast, Byron Bay etc and WA I would hire one though, butMelbourne and Sydney no.

We are hoping to drive a camper van from Sydney to Brisbane for a week with stopovers on the way. For anyone who has done this where did you stop off and why.
