Disneyland Tokyo tips

As some of you might know, i'm off to Tokyo in January with hubby & a few friends (our 1st holiday without the kids!) We haven't even begun checking out Disneyland as we've our Florida holiday in October so all our time & planning is going into that! When we get back on the 7th Nov we'll defo have time for our trip to Tokyo. We have 2 spare days for Disney I know this might not be enough time so we want to do as much we can. We aren't staying at Disney but plan to be there from opening, we're staying about 20 min train journey away& we're going to go on 2 weekdays as I hear it can be pretty packed at weekends. Any tips on where to eat in the parks & anything else will be greatly appreciated thanks.

I'd quite like to know about any tips for Disneyland Tokyo too! I'm currently planning a short trip to Tokyo next month (if I ever get my annual leave sorted out, and if the flight prices are still good when I can get around to booking them - already have the hotel booked on a refundable basis)...

Although if I actually do manage to go on my trip I might then have some tips after I go :P

Oh Wow that would be amazing! If you do go please message me when you get back! Are you doing both parks? I really hope we can see & do as much as we can in Disney, but it's a good excuse to get back if we don't! Have a fab time if you go

In the Disneyland Park try the Queen of Hearts Banqueting Hall. It's the best Disney QS we have ever experienced. - Roast chicken, salmon, meat dishes etc. You'll find it in Fantasyland.
If you like Asian food - Restaurant Hokusai in World Bazaar is fabulous. Or try Blue Bayou at POTC.

Disneyland restaurants - tokyodisneyresort.jp/en/r...lists/tdl.html

In Tokyo Disneysea try Vulcania Restaurant - fabulous QS Asian food.
If you want to push the boat out, it has to be Magellans or S S Columbia.
If you dine at the Columbia be sure to have adrink first in the Teddy Roosevelt bar - the bar roof is held up with carved wooden bears!

Disneysea restaurants - tokyodisneyresort.jp/en/r...lists/tds.html

They don't do walk ups at table service restaurants. You have to go to the venue and be allocated a time to eat. It can be a short as 15 minutes away!

Nearest mainline rail station is J R Maihama.

Note you have to pay on monorail around parks. Because it serves the public outside the parks in Japanese law it is a railway and this there is a fee. (This is why the railroad inside Disneyland does not run around the entire park.

If I can help with anything else...

I'm really hoping I get to go, been wanting to go for the longest time! Just worried that the flight prices will go up massively by the time my annual leave is sorted out (don't really want to book before this) and I will have to either look for an alternative destination or go another time...

And yes the plan (if I do go!) is definitely to do both parks! I have provisionally booked the Sheraton near Disneyland (it's much cheaper than a comparable hotel in central Tokyo) so will hopefully get enough time in the parks... and yes definitely a good excuse to go back if I don't manage to see/do everything there!

OH! Almost forget - there is NO tipping in Japan apart from taxis so don't leave any in restaurants. They'll come running after you to return the money!

We've looked into this hotel & the Hilton as we might say for the 2 nights, then move onto central Tokyo afterwards! Do you know if they run a shuttle to the parks? It seems pretty reasonable about £130 a night?

There's no park hopping in Tokyo. You'd have to buy tickets for both parks. So spend one day at each park.

I bought tickets to Disney Sea online in advance. This was a complete waste of time and really confused them. Buy tickets when you get there.

And my main advice is be flexible about when you go. We went to Disney Sea in April 2013 on a stormy day - BIG mistake. Lots of things got cancelled and we got soaked.

It wasn't ideal unfortunately but the Sinbad ride is the best dark ride I have ever been on.

Amazing thanks! We can't really be flexible as we've only 2 days & I don't want to go over a weekend (we're only in Tokyo for 6 days) I think we plan to buy tickets there & spend a full day in each park. How busy was it when you were there? I hear both parks are very packed all the time?
