Advice appreciated -Family holiday ideas with teenagers
Really want to plan a summer holiday for August 2017 - DS will be doing his GCSEs so would like to have something for us all to look forward to before the results come out DD will be 13 and DS16
Budget won't stretch to going back to America and looking at various options, and expecting to pay around the £3,500 mark for a week to include accommodation, food and flights, but finding that most hotels in Europe on package holidays will mean either us having two separate rooms or DD and DS having to share either a double bed or sofa bed, which isn't appropriate. We've done places like Eurocamp in the past, and think a tent would be too cramped and to be honest, I think the mobile homes seem very expensive for a week, given that we'd have to add on flights, car hire and food. Would like somewhere with guaranteed sunshine pools, not too far from the beach and not too rowdy! Am I asking too much? I know the holidays aren't released yet, but looking at prices for this year and you don't get a lot for your money! Have got leave booked from 27/7/17 for two weeks, so have a bit of flexibility. Thanks for reading and hope someone can recommend some good options?

We have struggled booking this year as so many places doing one bed apartments with a double sofa bed in the living area. We went to Cala d'or last year and stayed at the Esmeralda park which is right on the beach. We didn't eat at the hotel but i understand the food is good. It was walking distance to the main resort and just right for us at night with enough to do without being too lively and a nice harbour if you want to walk a bit further.

Have you looked at Thailand or be prepared to travel that far?
We had an amazing holiday there in 2014, my 2 were 11 & 18, there are some real bargains to be had.

Look at Euro camp some fabulous places try camping Bella Italia in Italy or they have some great ones in France, they have lots going on for teenagers. Advice though make sure u go for a place that u can get cheap flights to like easy jet ,Ryanair etc which keeps the cost down secondly look at Euro camp for inspiration but when you find some where you like book it yourself contacting the camp directly and flights as you will save over £1000 normally.

Hadn't considered there -my two are a bit fussy with food, like very traditional British food, DS is a bit adventurous but unfortunately DD isn't

When we went to Florida last year, we had loads of BA avios points, so flights to Miami only cost £2,400. Spent out on hotels as well as a villa, but villa was only £60 a night, so finding it hard to spend £3,500-£4,000 on one week in Europe! All advice much appreciated

Last year we did a last minute to la pineda, just outside Salou, 4* hotel, 10 nights AI, 2 rooms for 2 adults and 2 teens, 3 days tickets for Portaventura theme park and water park in the summer holidays for around £3,000.
We cannot do florida anymore due to DH'S cancer but we all thoroughly enjoyed our Spanish theme park holiday. Booked it through a company dh found through the tv, flew with jet2, hotel and transfers separately but atol and abta bonded.

That sounds a good price. There are some good prices to places like Turkey and Egypt but I think a lot of people probably see Spain as the safer option at the moment, could explain some of the prices I've seen!
