Mobile Bumped off BA Denver flight

We flew Manchester to Heathrow at 12. Delayed until 1 which meant they bumped us off Denver flight although they were still boarding and we went 75% in the queue. Basically they said they weren't expecting us to make it.
Question is, apart from hotel/food, what can we claim. Lost first nights hotel & 2nd partial payment.
Car hire will not be refunded with Alamo. Is this a travel insurance claim?

Don't know - very sorry for you, that's the problem with short connections outbound and why I do all I can to avoid them.
Even if you had got on, your bags probably would not have made it, but still would have been better.

Hopefully others can advise.

Edited to add - I would have been asking if your seats had been given to standby passengers. Don't know if they will answer.

You should be able to claim your travel insurance for rant but it would also be worthwhile submitting details to BA to see what they say. You would also be eligible for EU261 compensation for denied boarding.

They admitted they had sold our seats. I bet they did it before we landed. Check in agent also said it happens so much!

Doing a road trip so had to rebook Alamo at £350. Lost hotel at £100 and a days holiday

Oh & I should add. NO drinks are included in food voucher. Not even water. That can't be right?

Was it a "through flight" from Manchester to Denver via Heathrow? If so BA are liable. If you used a different airline to get to Heathrow that airline is only liable for that leg of the journey and it's a different story.

Tap water only with dinner. Anything else we had to pay for.

I am sorry to hear this.

We had an issue last year when BA own computer system bumped us off our AA connecting flight to Montreal at JFK. We were on time. I stood my ground and they took the standby passengers off the flight.

All I can suggest is you make a claim and speak to your insurers too.

Bon voyage for tomorrow.

T5-T3 has a minimum connection time of 90 mins, you gave yourselves 100 mins, perhaps not the wisest decision before a long haul flight . I also believe that if you don't enter security 35 mins before scheduled departure you are bumped at that point.
