Park runs... but I can’t run

I have a friend who is a taxi driver his social hours are c*'p and has been single for over 5 years. He decided to go to our local park run with no intention of running. Three months later 2 stone lighter, girlfriend on his arm and he still can't run but walks very fast

There is a fabulous atmosphere and it's very welcoming. I don't actually run but have been along as a supporter for OH, son and GCs.

Thank you so much everyone. That is really encouraging to read! I bought myself a running jacket last year, as one of my excuses was that I didn't have anything to wear, and it still has the labels on it I think this starting will hopefully be a good reason for me to give it a try.

I hope you go for it and try.
My daughter started out with the jog one minute walk the next and loved it. Now there is no stopping her, she ran, jogged, walked the Bognor race yesterday and beat her personal goal, I was so proud of her wearing her medal.
I am going to do the park run with her and daughter in law, they said they will just keep lapping past me until I get to the end. I think they are telling me how slow I go lol
Have a go and just enjoy it, they are the best people to be around, so friendly and encouraging.
