I presume the hardest part wasauthorising with school and sorting out stuff at other end

We are due to fly from Edinburgh ion Monday . Wind still looks bad up there u til 3pm . We are due to fly at 2-20 so fingers crossed

Does look to me like easy jet trying to take advantage of a situation by getting people to move to other less full flights away from half term weekend . Same income ( bar hotel costs which most won't need) but no flying costs
We had a text and email at about 8.40 last night. We were on hold on the phone with easyjet while looking for flights online with lots of different companies but of course they are all full due to it being half term.

Saw Gatwick flights for Tuesday so had to phone my Head who said it was ok so changed it online. Then followed lots of phone calls to 24 hour phone numbers for transfers, our hotel (still not sure how much extra we are paying and what is being refunded as the lady was Spanish and I’m not sure we completely understood each other, but that can be sorted another time). We had to cancel our Bristol parking, book parking and hotel for Gatwick. Took about 2 hours but everyone was helpful.

Just got to keep an eye on our credit card bill and double check our travel insurance if we need to.

I think lots of people will probably have a refund if they can only fly during half term so presumably easyJet will lose money as flights are always expensive at half term.

Keeping everything crossed for you for Monday 🤞

Hope she got the name of the person saying that just in case Virgin decide to try and use the weather as not to pay any EU compensation as there would be no way Virgin could make that much time up with the strong winds coming from the west.

I have a friend on the same flight ,her big worry is the weather closes in during the delay And the weather causes it to be cancelled.
On the positive side EU261 applies as the initial delay is tech not weather.

We are flying on Monday and can’t see any problems so far online. The same flight has departed today on time so hopeful we won’t be affected. Fustrating but not a lot we can do about the weather.

We saw the ITN News crew outside the Premier Inn when we arrived earlier. It was certainly giving it some with the wind and rain then...

Well, we made it back on time from Vancouver to Heathrow today, but landing was very hairy, with one go around. The cabin services director spoke to me and said they would only have one more try, so I imagine we would have gone somewhere else if it hadn't worked the second time. An experience I don't want to ever repeat. Flight to Glasgow also bumpy, glad to be home.

Got off on time and landed early in Charlotte.

Quick sushi and Impossible Whopper feast and now the short hop down to Tampa.

Pleased to report no delays on long haul from LGW today.

There will be no long haul weather delays from LGW tomorrow either.

Media hype.
