If it was me and dh I would probably get everything ready done. Maybe Beef Wellington chips and peas with mushrooms or a fillet steak. The have profiteroles and cream for pudding x

Another vote for M&S - small Turkey crown with ready prepared veg and trimmings. One of their trifles or panna cottas, and some nice cheeses etc for later.

I would still do a traditional Christmas lunch / dinner. But if worried about kitchen equipment I would buy trays of roasted potatoes and vegetables from M&S, possibly a prepared turkey crown as well.

With my ex-OH, we always had the main family get together on Boxing Day so Christmas Day itself was often just the two of us.
I would normally get a small stuffed joint and a tray of pigs in blankets. Then make some roasties (sometimes the pre-prepped ones, depending on my mood that year) plus a green veg. Instant or even ready made gravy. Really wasn't any more effort than a typical meal and only the veg pot to wash up as everything else was cooked in foil trays. No specific pudding, as there'd always be enough Christmas treats around! Edited at 10:24 AM. |

If you are happy with chicken salad, go with that.
You then can eat all your Christmas goodies guilt free as you have had a healthy dinner.😂 Seriously, I would have the salad and buy packs of Christmas snacks that just need to be heated in the oven for 15 minutes. Buy all you and Mr.Posie's favourites.Treats without too much effort. And without all the washing up! Edited at 01:18 PM. |

I would go with a beef wellington, dauphinois potatoes, and nice veggies. And a BIG glass of red wine 🍷
