*Winds In The East, Mist Coming In, Like Something Is Brewing...About To Begin* Aug 15 Trip Report

So my TR is only 4 months late…I’ve just about gotten over the Disney Blues, and all the drama that Christmas brings so I thought it was about time that I started!

Unfortunately, I cant produce one of those amazing day-by-day reports you other Dibbers do as I completely forgot to take notes We were also lucky enough to go for just short of 4 weeks so it’d be a hell long TR if I did!

I’ve decided to section it off as follows…(I'll update the links as I go!)
- Pre-travel day dramas and Bear’s birthday party - *complete*

- Travel Day - *complete*

- Hotels – Clarion Inn LBV, Beach Club (DVC), Animal Kingdom (DVC), Hard Rock Hotel (mega upgrade!) - *complete*

- Eats – onsite…Kona Café, TRex, EoS, Ohana, Crystal Palace, Trails End, Boathouse, Whispering Canyon, Akershus, Be Our Guest, Boma, snack credits

- More Eats – offsite…Millers Ale House, Outback, Bahama Breeze, Bubba Gumps, Three Broomsticks, Melting Pot (Magical Dining Month), Walmart

- Cruise – 4 night Disney Dream...lots of food and sunset pics!

- Extras – EMH (2am *yawn*), August weather, parks, Disney magic

We stayed offsite for the most part, with a couple of onsite stays (renting DVC points) and used the Dining Plan for the first time…omg I loved it! But sooooo much food!

I love reading the TR’s, especially ones from the time of year we’re visiting…we’re going back in Sept/October 2016 so I’m now on the look out for anything involving the F&W fest at Epcot and the dreaded HHN. Cant wait to be frightened out of my wits for fun

Hopefully anyone going in August/Sept might get some tips from the mistakes we made…like trying to stay in MK until 2am when you have jetlag and driving through a thunderstorm without a sat nav!

xx

Looking forward to reading, can imagine how bad it was in the thunderstorm.
Went in August 15 and stayed at YC ourselves.
Keep looking at DVC, Would definitely consider it if couldn't get DDP

Thanks for reading along!

Oh did you...I really liked the look of YC far more than BCV! How did you find the pool and general business...am wondering if we stayed on a bad day or something!

We're going for free ddp in April for the first time as it works out so much cheaper with food (we're taking Bear's family who never been before) but we've just now rented points for this Sept in AKV again, just the two of us...I can't wait! xx

I've always preferred look of YC to BC plus you get proper balconies with YC.
Shifu (a poster on here) was at BC same time as our holiday so we met for a chat. I remember she wasn't fussed with her room and had to be relocated.
We would love to stay at YC again, though know what you mean about pool being busy. Though we always managed to get somewhere in the shade. We just liked it was so easy to walk to Epcot as we are there a lot on DDP. My husband loved not driving to the restaurants.
Saying that we want to have an Easter and August holiday to Florida next year so YC totally out of our price range. Probably OKW or POR.
Where are you staying in April.

I think maybe BCV is a little tired...but i'm sure they were working on it whilst we were there, so maybe it's better now?

We're staying at Poly, AKV and a few days offsite next Sept, and Sept 17 i'm hoping to get a Treehouse Villa at SSR with the free dining...never booked with Disney/DDP before so am soooo nervous hahaha!

Would LOVE to stay at POR (the royal rooms are just beautiful!) but it always works out cheaper for us to rent points and stay DVC so we haven't managed to yet...one day! xx
