Our first DVC food trip report

Hi all,

Last year on our honeymoon we joined DVC. This time tomorrow we will be on our way to Gatwick as we are staying over the night before our flight.

We have decided to do a food report as we personally find them really useful when planning. It's a 50/50 split of onsite and offsite restaurants, we are planning to do the below:

Bubba grumps
Ihop
Perkins
Texas de Brazil
Longhorns
Denny's
Steak 'n Shake
Joe's Crab Shack
Garden grill
Yatchsman steakhouse
Yak and yeti
Club villian
Hard Rock Cafe
Whispering canyon cafe
Ohana
Teppen Edu
Citricos
Casey's
Be our guest

Thanks all, see you real soon :-)

Ooh, I shall look forward to reading this. We're going on our first DVC trip in January. Hope you have a magical time
ETA Good to see Citricos on your list, it's our favourite Disney restaurant.

Pre Travel day

Hi all we have arrived at the premier inn at Gatwick's north terminal. We checked in the hood luggage and decided to have a costa coffee as there is one on site.

We had 2 hot chocolates (£3.20 each) and a chocolate cookie to share (£1.75)

All was enjoyed. The cookie did have a hint a ginger to it though. Will hopefully update later after dinner

Dinner last night was at the Premier Inn. Our dinner was included in our hotel package. It included 2 courses each and a drink.

For main I had the 8oz sirloin steak, I asked for it medium with fries

It was ok, nothing special but filled a gap. It was a bit under cooked for my liking but I didn't send it back even though the staff did offer to get it changed. I really liked the chips, I prefer the slim French fries to think steak chips anyway.

John had the 8oz rump steak. He had his medium rare. It came with fries, tomato, mushrooms and peas.

John said it wasn't seasoned so tasted a bit bland. He also didn't like that I had to take a photo before he could start eating hehe. John cleared most of his plate and said his steak was cooked perfectly.

For dessert I had ice cream with chocolate sauce. It was a bigger portion than I expected. John had the apple, plum and ginger crumble with custard.

John really enjoyed his crumble and was surprised that it was pipping hot. He didn't finish it all as towards the bottom he said it was broken down into mush. We don't usually do dessert so it was a nice change for us both.

Overall the food was ok, we weren't expecting to be blown away. For the price we paid for the room it was good value for money. The staff were really helpful and couldn't do enough for you.

For anyone who was wondering we paid £97 for our room, which included a 2 course evening meal and breakfast.
