We have an annual policy with LV. They cover for both cancellation and illness due to Covid but will not cover you for either if you book for USA while the FCO are advising not to travel there.
I’d love to book for next summer but I won’t while USA is on the red list due to travel insurance. I’d happily manage the risk of losing a deposit but not not being covered for anything if the trip went ahead.

We moved our Sept booking to Feb. Hopefully, this is the US peak now and they start to sort themselves out soon, but then this is Florida we're talking about so who knows?

I've got a week at Universal in feb but reading the news today I'm not as hopeful that it will go ahead. we have booked with BA though and we can cancel at any time and get vouchers. Balance not due until 2/3 weeks prior to trip

We’d already booked for New York in December before COVID, so are covered on our insurance (policy through bank account). We’ve also booked for California for Easter. Our insurance won’t cover cancellation due to COVID, but will cover medical if we’re ill.
Given we managed to recoup all our money from our cancelled August trip without involving the insurance, I’m happy to take the risk. Both holidays are booked with BA, so worst case scenario is losing the deposit if we decide not to go ahead.

We booked some very reasonable flights in march for feb 2021 with klm. We have paid in full but they have said we can move our flights free of charge (will have to pay any difference in fare) if neccessary. I have then booked 2 hotels both on a book now pay at the hotel basis. Going to leave park tickets till much nearer the time. I must admit im not 100% confident but i also feel we have some flexibility so shouldnt lose much.
