Virgin - December flights

Hi, has anyone had a December flight/holiday cancelled with Virgin yet? We're due to pay our balance on Saturday for our 19th Dec trip. 99% sure it won't go ahead so reluctant to pay balance then have to wait for a refund as I hear they're taking a while!

Mine was cancelled by VH, but that was for December 8th from Manchester.

Not yet, although we are in the same position. We fly on the 18th, but don’t need to pay the rest of the money until the end of this month. We won't actually pay it, we will alter the holiday. Whilst we aren’t worried about going away, we cannot isolate when we come home, so cant risk it.

Same position here - 17th December. My understanding is currently anything after 10th December is scheduled to fly so I think you may not get clarity before Saturday

There are one or two threads already on the DIBB about Virgin December flights but to summarise:-

Virgin Atlantic has pushed back the relaunch of its Orlando services.

The Heathrow service will now start on 10th December, using an A330-300.

The Manchester service will relaunch on the same day, also using an A330-300.

Both services are scheduled to operate daily, although a lot can still change before then so it is a case of watch and wait at the moment.

Our VA flight on 2nd December was cancelled last week.
Refund requested.

There’s no way on earth now they’ll be flying holidaymakers to Orlando for Xmas. I’m booked on it, it won’t happen- why Virgin don’t just accept the inevitable I don’t know. They can’t put you on a flight where you are barred from entering the other end.

I agree plus how long after cancelling do we wait for a refund, I don't expect to see our money any time soon
