Theraputty
Anyone use Theraputty? Josh is going to the occupational therapist on thursday to get some and to learn some exercises, just wondering if anyone had any experience of using it?

our son has used this, there are different types with different strengths of resistance, he had this to help with muscle tone in his hands to build up strength for using cutlery/handwriting and other fine motor movements.
We didn't find it made any improvement really. |

My son got some from amazon, it was to help build up the muscles in his hands (he has dyspraxia), there are different strengths and they come in different colours according to how much resistance you need.
My son found it really good, and as it never goes hard, we all have a play now and again!

Amy has some that we got from Whistling Tortoise online - I got the BIG tub as thought it would be better in case some of the stuff lost it's elasticity but could have just got the smaller tub.
She found it really helpful when her hands were sore and she needed to do her OT exercises - just make sure it's not left lying out of it's tub as it will seep into carpets / clothes / sofa's etc and is very difficult to get out (if you can!). Folding it in on itself and making an air pocket and making it pop is fun apparently! Your OT/Physio will need to tell you what colour to get tho as the colour equates to the strength and you don't want to get one that's too firm. M xx |
