DS is going on a school trip tommorrow.

Thomas is going on a school trip where they will be doing loads of outdoor activities. He will be away from home for 2 days and I am panicking so much about it.

I've packed everything and have been reassured by the support at school that everything will be fine, all staff will be aware of his needs at the camp etc... etc... and his meds will be given and everything, but I am still worried sick.

This is his first time away from home, apart from the odd night at grandads.

Not sure if I should have put this in chat, but I know that most of the other parents of aspie kids post here so they will know the anxieties I'm feeling.

I should be happy for him, I am happy and he's so excited but there's a part of me willing on the days until Wednesday when he's back home, and he hasn't even left yet.

Ooh I'd be the same as you!
You know how it is though, he'll be so excited and busy that he won't have time to miss you, and you'll be at home wondering what he's doing and having all the time in the world to worry.
Hopefully the lovely weather will continue for him and he'll have a whale of a time x

I know Tracy, it will pass so quickly. I have a copy of the itiniery and he will be busy busy busy so won't have time to miss home, I'm just worried in case he has any meltdowns and hasn't got the security of knowing he has that escape route home IYKWIM.

We aren't allowed to contact them but his TA has said she will call me to let me know he's settled on the first night and that I can always call 1471 to discover the number she called me from should I need to.

I'll have to resist calling but I will find the number, just in case.
