Just like the other guys I'm always intrigued when Lindaelaine posts on a thread called "overnight oats".

Had to read it as I wasn't quite sure as to whether that's when you did it or that was how long it took

Mick

If using banana, does this go
In the night before or in the morning?

I put mine in the night before, I use a small jar with a lid so I shake it all up together and then leave overnight, the banana didn't go all brown and yukky like I imagined it would .

Have a look at Two Chubby Cubs website, they have a whole section dedicated to overnight oats recipes, and the writer is very funny (unless of course you are easily offended), But you don't have to read the blog-type stories that go with the website. I also believe that he was a Dibber, may well still be.

I do simple overnight oats by mixing oats with a muller light yoghurt and topping with frozen summer fruits. I always mix the yoghurt and oats, none of this layering business for me!

I don't layer I put the oats in the bottom and then chuck everything else in, add the milk and shake .i guess if I used yoghurt I would have to mix that into the oats to bind both together ? I thought you had to use liquid of some sort for the oats to swell and soften ?

For the base recipe we use oats and a spoonful of chia seeds, and make a smoothie with skimmed milk and fat free Greek yogurt plus:
- banana, peanut butter and cacao nibs
Or
- banana, frozen berries, almonds and coconut
Must get round to trying the carrot cake oats

I also make mine by mixing 40 gm of oats with a Muller Vanilla light yoghurt. Have to thoroughly mix though , leave covered , then add my frozen fruit . It only takes a little while to soften the fruit, so gives me chance to enjoy a coffee first thing before sitting down to eat
