Yes, looking on Disboards, most don't seem too happy about it either.

I doubt anyone except Chapek is actually happy at the news.

I'm seeing a lot of "not happy but will pay for it" comments though. Which is exactly what happens every time Disney either increase their prices or introduce new fees. And pretty much what Disney are banking on. They know the demand is there. When forced to choose between paying more or not going, most people are going to choose to pay more. They might have to sacrifice other parts of their holiday (fewer days, cheaper hotel, supermarket food, etc) and they might grumble at the cost but they're still going to buy their tickets no matter what.

There’s no-one that’s really going to be happy about paying for something that was once free. But it affects those that take long trips more, and a lot of Americans while unhappy will still pay for it, as shown with maxpass. I’m sure Disney are hoping it will just fade away and buying will be the new normal, as it is in Paris.

MaxPass was different as it was an additional service. Prior to that, Disneyland had no app-based fastpasses, it was paper tickets only. So it was seen as a positive addition, even though you had to pay for it.

But speaking of MaxPass, I'm starting to think they might expand Genie+ to include photopass photos in the WDW. It gives them consistency between the two properties and makes it feel better value for money when you consider Memory Maker is $169-199. But probably not before they want to increase the price.

Well aware it was different, but a lot of people took advantage of it, and if you did it is basically the same as genie+ minus a few headline rides. And yes some have suggested they should up genie+ to $20 and include memory maker, but I think the difference is memory maker or individual attraction photos are much more of a money spinner in WDW than DL.

Sadly, I think you’re right. Disney isn’t daft - it knows it can get away with quite a lot! Most will accept and move on - I’ll probably be one of them! I’ll go next year and as long as I enjoy it, the memories will draw me back again 😊

Any Indication of how much the individual ride costs will be? I get the surge pricing concept meaning prices will change, but are there lower and upper limits?

Don’t think these have been shared yet - just speculation at the moment.

Hiya the bigger one is here: change/p/walt-disney...t-disney-world I think there’s a few about at moment. I genuinely don’t think it’ll make a jot of difference.
